I have the same feeling as you. It's very hard for me to imaging how to compress data with such an extreme ratio and uncompress it so fast to play smoothly.
But using system data to generate 3D animation is more acceptable, just the matter of how.
There must be some powerful algorithms behind that 64k program that do all the works.
Either way, it's amazing how they make this happen.
